Ferguson and Philip Debate During Segment On CNN

Ben Ferguson has quietly become CNN’s go-to conservative voice for when Scott Jennings isn’t available — and this week, he showed why.

On Abby Phillip Tonight, Ferguson managed to push the entire liberal panel into meltdown mode over the bombshell indictment of former FBI Director James Comey. While former Obama staffer Joanna Maska sputtered through talking points about “what MAGA folks want from this administration,” Ferguson stayed calm and methodical, dismantling her claims point by point. His simple refrain — that maybe Comey wouldn’t be in trouble if he hadn’t lied — sent the Left into fits.

Comey now faces charges of making false statements and obstructing a congressional proceeding, both tied to his September 30, 2020 testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee. According to CNN’s Jake Tapper, the false-statement charge is tied to “Arctic Haze,” a classified leak investigation linked to at least four news articles. The indictment says Comey testified under oath that he had not authorized anyone to be an anonymous source in news reports. Prosecutors now allege that statement was false.

Comey responded to the indictment in a typically lofty Instagram video. “Let’s have a trial. And keep the faith,” he intoned. “My heart is broken for the Department of Justice but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system and I’m innocent.” The problem for Comey is that Arctic Haze wasn’t just a leak probe — it was a full-blown FBI operation that targeted the GOP and conservative movement, including Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA.

Ferguson also used his CNN appearance to call out the double standards and rhetorical gaslighting from the Left. When panelist Bakari Sellers tried to pivot to the anti-ICE shooting in Dallas — where a 29-year-old leftist, Joshua Jahn, attacked a detention facility, killing one detainee and injuring two more before committing suicide — Ferguson held firm. Federal officials have already called it what it is: domestic terrorism. Jahn was targeting ICE agents and employees, with detainees as collateral damage.

And yet the panel still tried to downplay the Left’s role in fueling political violence, even as ICE facilities are attacked and conservative leaders like Charlie Kirk are assassinated. Ferguson wouldn’t let them get away with it. “Maybe the anti-ICE messages on the ammunition were the clue,” he said, underscoring the obvious motive that the Left’s pundits refused to acknowledge.
