A wild AI-generated campaign video backing Spencer Pratt for Los Angeles mayor is exploding online just weeks before the city’s primary election — and somehow it has people across the political spectrum talking about a reality TV star like he’s Gotham’s last hope.
Yes, really.
The cinematic clip, which looks like a mashup of Batman, dystopian sci-fi, and internet meme culture cranked up to maximum volume, portrays Los Angeles as a collapsing nightmare run by corrupt political elites while Pratt transforms into a masked vigilante determined to save the city.
And the targets are not subtle.
Mayor Karen Bass appears as a Joker-style villain overseeing the chaos. Gov. Gavin Newsom is shown lounging around eating cake while Vice President Kamala Harris drinks at a lavish Victorian-style banquet filled with political elites. Socialist city councilmember and mayoral challenger Nithya Raman appears as a wooden puppet controlled by strings.

Meanwhile, ordinary Angelenos are depicted begging for help while being ignored by the political class.
“Please, I’m begging you. There are homeless drug addicts in front of the schools. My children aren’t safe,” one desperate character says in the video before being shoved to the ground by armored agents labeled as members of the Democratic Socialists of America, the organization affiliated with Raman.
At another point in the video, an AI-generated Kamala Harris dismissively says, “Bass already solved crime, I already endorsed her,” mocking Harris’ recent endorsement of the incumbent mayor.
Then comes Pratt’s dramatic entrance.
The former reality television personality — best known for “The Hills” — gears up in Batman-style armor before charging into the elite gathering while another resident cries out for help rebuilding after the devastating January 2025 wildfires that destroyed parts of Pacific Palisades, including Pratt’s own home.
“I just want to rebuild my home. It’s been over a year,” the character says.
The finale goes fully internet fever dream, with Pratt leading a crowd of AI-generated Los Angeles residents hurling tomatoes at Bass, Harris, and Newsom.
The video was created and posted by filmmaker Charles Curran, who describes himself online as part of Menace, a “private production entity pioneering synthetic images for select creative partners.”
“LA is worth saving. Vote Spencer Pratt,” Curran wrote in the post accompanying the video on X.
Pratt later reposted the clip to his own account, and it immediately caught fire online, racking up more than 3.5 million views.
What’s especially strange is how much praise the ad has received — even from people outside Pratt’s political orbit.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush called it “the best political ad of the year” on X.
Conservative commentator Jennifer Van Laar added another twist by pointing out the video was apparently not even produced by Pratt’s official campaign.
“This isn’t an ad put out by his campaign… which makes it even more amazing,” she wrote.
The viral success of the video reflects just how unconventional Los Angeles politics have become heading into the June 2 primary. Public frustration over homelessness, crime, housing costs, wildfire recovery, and city management has created an atmosphere where even a surreal AI superhero video can suddenly become part of the serious political conversation.
