Dana White Makes Statement Regarding White House Event

Plans for America’s 250th anniversary celebration just got a high-octane injection of adrenaline. UFC President and CEO Dana White confirmed this week that he will deliver a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle on the South Lawn of the White House — a full-scale UFC event scheduled to take place on Independence Day, 2026.

In a recent podcast appearance, White left no room for understatement:

“This is a sphere, 1 of 1, unique event that will never happen again. And I will blow the doors off this thing. I’m going to make this one of the greatest events of all time.”

The bold vision aligns with President Donald Trump’s sweeping plans for the nation’s semi-quincentennial — the 250th anniversary of American independence. Speaking at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on July 4, Trump revealed that White will not only host a UFC fight at the White House, but may also build an arena on the property to accommodate tens of thousands of fans.

“Dana is going to do it. Dana is great, one of a kind,” Trump said. “It’s going to be a UFC fight — championship fight, full fight, like 20,000 to 25,000 people.”

Trump and White have maintained a close personal and professional relationship for years. White has repeatedly praised Trump for supporting UFC during its early years, and Trump is a regular VIP guest at major fight nights. The upcoming 2026 showdown marks a new chapter — bringing the octagon to the most famous lawn in America.

The event will be part of a broader nationwide celebration dubbed “America250,” which Trump described as “the single greatest year in the history of our country.” In addition to the UFC spectacle, the White House is planning “incredible events” across national parks, battlefields, and historical landmarks. A “Patriot Games” competition will showcase top high school athletes from all 50 states.

As for the logistics of hosting a combat sports mega-event in one of the most secure locations on earth, those details remain in the works. But if anyone is equipped to turn spectacle into reality, it’s Dana White. And with Trump committed to transforming America’s birthday into an unforgettable patriotic show of strength, spectacle, and tradition, expectations couldn’t be higher.
