Shocking Intel Released
President Donald Trump just dropped a bombshell on election security. He announced the immediate release of critical intelligence about our voting system. This news reveals “shocking vulnerabilities in our election infrastructure”.
These documents point to foreign data theft by China and other issues. Trump says they show Americans were misled about weaknesses in our system. He also claims there is new evidence of “election fraud”.
It’s important to note that Fox News Digital couldn’t independently verify these documents. Still, the President is using this info to demand action from Congress. He wants to stop foreign interference and ensure honest elections.
“We have very important elections coming up,” Trump said. “We want those elections to be honest”. He believes the current system allows people to cheat.
“The only reason you wouldn’t do it is you want to cheat,” Trump argued. He claims Democrats oppose strict rules because their policies are bad.
The SAVE America Act
The SAVE America Act is the solution Trump is pushing right now. This bill would require proof of citizenship for all federal elections. It also mandates that every voter must show a photo voter ID.
While it’s already illegal for noncitizens to vote, this law adds strict proof. Federal law currently requires voters to swear they are citizens under penalty of perjury. The new act tightens these rules significantly.
Trump ordered the DHS to tell states to remove ineligible voters immediately. He wants every state to clean their voter rolls right now.
Rep. Tim Burchett made a passionate plea for the bill. “We are going to lose our country if we don’t pass the dadgum SAVE America Act,” he said.
Sen. Mike Lee agreed, saying it’s vital to crush foreign interference. “It is more important than ever to pass the SAVE AMERICA ACT,” Lee stated.
Battle Lines Drawn
Getting this bill passed isn’t easy. The Senate needs 60 votes to clear the filibuster, and Republicans lack that support. Senate Majority Leader John Thune admitted his caucus is “not even close” to having those votes.
Republicans plan to use a $95 billion spending bill to pass parts of the act. This method is called reconciliation, but it has limits. Reconciliation only works for taxes and spending, so some rules may not pass.
Trump is taking a hard stance. He refused to sign the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act because the Senate failed to pass the SAVE America Act.
Thune blames Democrats for the blockage. “The folks that have consistently blocked, voted against it are all the Democrats,” Thune said.
But not everyone agrees on the strategy. Christian Datoc called the bill a partisan move. “This is a partisan bill,” Datoc argued. He believes Republicans should try to work with Democrats instead.
Trump told voters to call their leaders. “I ask you to pick up your phone tomorrow,” he urged. He wants Americans to demand the bill pass without delay.
What Comes Next
This fight will define the next few months. The stakes are high for the integrity of our vote. If the bill fails, Trump may withhold more support for other laws.
Rep. Jim Jordan sees the opposition as a sign of weakness. “If photo ID is an existential threat to Democrats,” Jordan noted, “that sort of tells you something”.
Can Republicans overcome the Senate rules? Only time will tell. But the pressure is on. The President has made his position clear.
