Kamala Teases Book Release With TikTok Video

Kamala Harris is back in the spotlight — and this time, it’s in hardcover.

The former vice president is releasing a memoir this fall titled 107 Days — a nod to the length of her abbreviated presidential campaign — hitting shelves on Sept. 23 through Simon & Schuster.

“Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for President of the United States,” Harris said in a video posted Thursday. “107 days traveling the country, fighting for our future — the shortest presidential campaign in modern history. Since leaving office, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days… I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what it will take to move forward.”

The publisher is billing the 320-page memoir as a “page-turning account” with “surprising and revealing insights.” Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp, who also publishes Hillary Clinton and Bob Woodward, hyped the book as “one of the best works of political nonfiction Simon & Schuster has ever published.”

As for what’s actually inside? Karp wouldn’t give specifics — including whether Harris addresses the elephant in the room: President Biden’s fitness for office, which became a campaign-defining issue after his disastrous debate performance. But he promised Harris “addresses everything we would want her to address.”

Harris took over the top of the Democratic ticket last summer after Biden’s collapse, only to be defeated in November by Donald Trump. She would have been the first woman — and first woman of color — to win the presidency.

While she’s ruled out running for California governor in 2026, Harris is still widely seen as a potential contender for the 2028 Democratic nomination. In the meantime, she’s hitting the talk-show circuit: her first post-election interview will air Thursday night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Financial details for the book deal weren’t disclosed, but given the publisher’s full-throated praise, expect plenty of promotion. This isn’t Harris’ first foray into publishing — in 2019, she released The Truths We Hold: An American Journey, timed to her short-lived 2020 run.
