Congresswoman Comments On Vance Speech Delivered In Munich

Vice President JD Vance has had quite the week, and true to form, he’s been driving the left absolutely insane. His latest back-and-forth with anti-Israel commentator Mehdi Hasan managed to get under enough skin that even Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) felt the need to insert herself into the conversation—though, as always, she made it mostly about herself.

The whole saga kicked off when Hasan, still fuming over restrictions on Associated Press access, tried to lecture Vance about free speech. Vance, fresh off his speech at the Munich Security Conference, had just delivered some hard-hitting truths about Europe’s real threats—particularly how internal political censorship is a greater danger than anything coming from abroad. In response, Hasan attempted to paint Vance’s comments as hypocritical. That’s when AOC decided to jump in, shifting the conversation away from Europe and Hasan and back toward her own latest scandal—urging illegal immigrants to evade ICE enforcement.

Tagging Vance directly, AOC accused him of having “lied to the world in Munich” before smugly adding, “Look in the mirror.” The problem? Vance hadn’t even been talking about her.

AOC’s post was clearly an attempt to hijack the moment, turning a discussion about international security into a personal grievance session. And why? Because the heat has been turning up on her over her reckless rhetoric on immigration. Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar, recently confirmed that he’s referred AOC to the Department of Justice for her public encouragement of illegal immigration. Instead of addressing the issue, she resorted to her usual playbook: deflect, play the victim, and hope the media spins it her way.

Meanwhile, Hasan, never one to let a controversy go to waste, invited Vance to appear on his Peacock show. But that’s likely a non-starter—the vice president has no real incentive to give Hasan the attention he desperately craves, especially after his latest display of bad judgment.

Hasan recently had to delete a disgusting post reacting to a small plane crash in Covington, Georgia, where he wrote, “Make American Planes Crash Again.” The joke fell flat, especially coming from a guy who lost his mind last October when someone on CNN made a similarly tasteless remark. Back then, Ryan Girdusky was immediately fired for joking about Hasan’s “beeper” going off, but somehow Hasan himself keeps getting invited back.

It’s a familiar pattern: people like AOC and Hasan operate with the assumption that the rules don’t apply to them. AOC can openly call for lawbreaking and act outraged when there are consequences. Hasan can make crude jokes about American plane crashes and expect to skate by while demanding others be held accountable for less.
