This past Monday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre chose to respond to the grade school shooting in Nashville, which left three children and three adults dead, by trying to blame Republicans for their stance on gun control.
The shooting took place at Covenant Christian school rocked the city of Nashville, and was particularly unusual because police forces stated that the shooter was a 28-year-old Nashville woman that recently started to identify as a man. Police officials have also stated that they believe the woman happened to be a former student.
The Biden White House, known to never let a tragedy go to waste, quickly attempted to politicize the tragedy.
“How many more children have to be murdered before Republicans in Congress will step up and act to pass the assault weapons ban?” asked the press secretary as part of a Monday evening press conference. “Once again, the president calls on Congress to do something before another child is senselessly killed in a preventable act of gun violence.”

As explained by Jean-Pierre, President Joe Biden has been briefed about the shooting taking place and is actively speaking with the local officials in Nashville. Biden commented on the shooting while attending the Small Business Administration’s Women’s Business Summit this past Monday evening, calling on Congress to shove through his gun control legislation in the wake of the tragedy.
“We have to do more to stop gun violence. It’s ripping our communities apart,” the president stated. “We have to do more to protect our schools so they’re not turned into prisons.”
“I call on Congress again to pass my assault weapons ban,” he stated.
A 28-year-old female who will not be unidentified, killed a total of six people with three of them being children this past Monday inside of a Nashville Christian school prior to being fatally shot by police forces, explained officials.
The shooter came into contact with police officials at roughly 10:27 a.m., a scant 14 minutes after the first call was issued to police forces, explained officials in Nashville as part of a press conference.
“The police department response was swift,” explained one police officer at the press conference held directly outside the school. “Officers entered the first story of the school and began clearing it. They heard shots coming from the second level and they went toward the gunfire. When the officers got to the second level, they saw a shooter, a female, who was firing. The officers engaged her, she was fatally shot by responding police officers.”
The official stated that the shooter was “armed with two assault-type rifles and a handgun.”
