Adam Robinson was flying his family to the Bahamas for a birthday party when the plane crashed. The tech tycoon, his wife, and their two young children died in the fireball. Nine people were on board. None survived. This happened on Sunday in Florida.
The jet was a $2 million Learjet. It took off from Austin, Texas. It was meant for a week-long celebration. Instead, it nose-dived into a mobile home park. The crash left a huge crater in the street. Federal investigators have not determined what caused the crash.
Adam Robinson was 45. He was a startup mogul from Texas. He had made millions on Wall Street. He planned to spend the trip with his wife, Emma. Her name was Helen Sharp. She was 40. They had two young kids. Emma was 4. Charlie was 2.
They were not alone. The nanny, Anita Maria Cetina, was there. Two friends, Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr, were also on board. Per the New York Post, relatives said the couple had a “love affair that will last forever.” The tribute noted their children “were the light of their lives.” All four family members died alongside their friends and the crew.
Absolutely devastated by yesterday’s tragic plane crash in Florida and the loss of all nine lives. I flew on that exact aircraft last month with those same two pilots. They were incredible professionals and genuinely wonderful people. Hearing the young woman’s story and learning about the bright future she had ahead of her makes it even more heartbreaking that her life was cut so short. 💔
My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to the grieving families and loved ones of everyone on board. A tragic reminder of how fragile life is. Love on your loved ones while you can, because you never know what tomorrow may bring.— ⚡️Primetime!!!⚡️ (@Joe_MainMixon) November 2, 2026
The pilots were also killed. Captain Jeffrey Gregory was 55. He was a married father of three. His co-pilot was Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras. She was only 20. She was a devout Christian. Her church said she “went home to be with the Lord when the plane he was flying crashed.” Audio from the cockpit shows Gregory reciting the Lord’s Prayer. Filgueiras screamed that they were about to die.
The plane was flying at 27,000 feet. It started to pick up ice. It hit heavy turbulence. The temperature was -50 degrees Fahrenheit. The jet broke up before it hit the ground. Debris scattered over a half-mile radius. Investigators are still checking if a black box survived the impact.
NFL star Joe Mixon was shaken by the news. He realized he had flown on that exact aircraft just weeks before. He wrote a post on X on Tuesday. “I flew on that exact aircraft last month with those same two pilots,” the former Cincinnati Bengal wrote. He called them “incredible professionals and genuinely wonderful people.”
Mixon said hearing about the co-pilot’s story made it even more heartbreaking. She had earned her private pilot’s license at 17. She had logged 1,300 hours in the air. Mixon offered prayers to the families. He told people to “Love on your loved ones while you can.” He noted that you never know what tomorrow may bring.
