President Joe Biden issued a large number of false and misleading statements throughout the opening remarks for the Tuesday evening State of the Union address.
Biden started out by issuing misleading claims in regard to the economy, stating that he “created a record 12 million new jobs, more jobs created in two years than any president has ever created in four years.” Biden failed to point out that many of those jobs were people making their way back to their jobs which were lost during the pandemic.
Biden then bragged about how the price of gas has managed to start dropping down slightly but again failed to mention that they also managed to sprint up to all-time highs while also under his administration.
Biden claimed that inflation is starting to come down, but failed to note that inflation levels have remained high throughout his administration and managed to cap out at close to 40-year highs. He also made the claim that Americans’ “take-home pay have gone up” without actually mentioning that record-shattering levels of inflation have very severely hurt the gains to take-home pay for the average American.
Biden also issued the blame for skyrocketing inflation rates that took off while under his supervision on “the pandemic that disrupted supply chains and Putin’s war that disrupted energy and food supplies.” Biden overtly failed to speak up about the inflation taking off while under his administration, but that of the previous administration, and just how his extremely bloated $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan only ended up super charging the rate of inflation as it started its climb.
