In a sit-down that felt more like a soft farewell tour than a serious interview, CNN’s Anderson Cooper recently shared the spotlight with outgoing Democrat powerbroker Nancy Pelosi, whose final term in Congress winds down toward its end in January 2027. The tone was predictably cozy — lots of smiles, no tough questions — as Pelosi used the moment to toss one more jab at President Donald Trump and wax poetic about glass ceilings that, according to her, still haven’t been shattered quite enough.
Cooper: “You said recently that President Trump is a vile creature, the worst thing on the face of the Earth.”
Pelosi: “I said that as a euphemism. I could have done much worse.” pic.twitter.com/uemxTz1KXR

Pelosi lamented that America still hasn’t had a female president — a subtle gripe, of course, wrapped in a complaint that the Speaker’s gavel came before the Oval Office for women. The irony? She’s been in power for decades, presided over two failed impeachments, and steered her party into some of its most divisive chapters, yet still plays the role of disappointed observer.
As vile creatures go, she’s at the top of the tree.

While she rambled on about history, Trump, and legacy, Cooper sat there grinning like he was catching up with an old friend rather than interviewing a sitting member of Congress. It was hard not to notice — as many online posters did — that the segment felt more like a media retirement party than journalism. The air was thick with nostalgia, self-congratulation, and yes, a fair amount of hand-waving.
Pelosi was, well, Pelosi. Animated, gesturing wildly, vaguely tipsy in tone but high on her own self-importance. She wasn’t exactly handsy with Cooper, but the air between them took a beating as she chopped it with her signature dramatic flair. And behind every sentence, you could almost see the unspoken asterisk: historical significance pending results.

January 3, 2027, is fast approaching — or, as many are calling it, “No More Nancy Day.” After decades of wielding power, shaping House rules to fit her agenda, and presiding over an increasingly fractured party, Pelosi’s long-awaited exit is just around the corner.
Pelosi: “I thought the American people were much more ready for a woman President. Just the thought of it is so exciting! And the message it sends to the world.” pic.twitter.com/qYPueo0nDJ

For Democrats, she’s a lioness of legislation. For Republicans and independents, she’s the face of elitist gridlock. Either way, the clock is ticking.
