Country Music Star Responds To Actors Video

Well, here we go again—another Hollywood actor takes on an iconic American role and then promptly tries to erase the very thing that makes it iconic. This time, it’s Anthony Mackie, the new face of Captain America, who just informed the world that “America” isn’t what his character stands for. And predictably, the backlash has been swift.

Mackie, whose character Sam Wilson has now inherited the shield from Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, made headlines while promoting Captain America: Brave New World in Rome. When asked about what Captain America represents, Mackie said, “I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations.” Instead, he argued, the character embodies qualities like “honor, dignity, and integrity.”

Now, there’s nothing wrong with honor and dignity—but Captain America not representing America? That’s like saying Superman doesn’t represent truth and justice, or that Batman doesn’t stand for fighting crime. It’s absurd. And let’s not pretend this was some slip of the tongue. This was deliberate. This was Hollywood doing what Hollywood does—chipping away at anything remotely patriotic, making sure every last symbol of American pride is diluted into some bland, globalist mush.

It didn’t take long for people to start calling Mackie out.

Country star John Rich didn’t mince words, writing on X, “I guess I won’t be taking my kids to watch Captain Anti-America. These idiots will never learn.”

Ben Shapiro, never one to hold back, called out Disney and Marvel directly: “These studios at some point will have to stop giving their stars a platform to utterly destroy their product.”

Clay Travis from Outkick sarcastically asked, “Are there any actors and actresses employed by Marvel who aren’t complete and total morons?”

And Dan Bongino? He made it clear he won’t be wasting his money, saying, “Another s** movie I won’t be seeing.”*

After getting absolutely roasted online, Mackie tried to walk things back, posting on his Instagram Stories, “Let me be clear about this, I’m a proud American and taking on the shield of a hero like CAP is the honor of a lifetime.”

Sorry, but the damage is done. You don’t get to go on a press tour, tell the world that Captain America doesn’t represent America, and then act shocked when people call you out. If you really had “the utmost respect for those who serve and have served our country,” you wouldn’t have even made that statement in the first place.

This isn’t just about Mackie. This is part of a larger pattern. Hollywood has spent the last decade gutting American symbols, rewriting history, and trying to convince audiences that the country’s most iconic characters have nothing to do with the country itself. First, they try to twist Captain America into some apologetic, politically correct figurehead. Now, they’re straight-up saying he’s not about America at all.
