Dem Attack Against DeSantis Slapped Down By Unexpected Source

Nikki Fried, the Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman, set her crosshairs on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in the wake of his choice to have an interview with a well-known British television host, Piers Morgan, on the man’s show, “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”

Fried is most well known for failing to secure the 2022 democratic nomination against ex-Republican Charlie Crist — who proceeded to get blown out of the race by DeSantis as he secured the office — but she made sure to give a moment this past Tuesday to try and mock DeSantis for taking part in the interview at all, seemingly suggesting that he had only taken part in it to try and resuscitate a flagging campaign.

“Ron DeSantis retreated to a flipping @piersmorgan interview to try to save his failing campaign,” exclaimed Fried in a tweet. “Bahahahahahahaa. Hahahahahahahaa. Bahahahahahahah.”

Morgan was quick to fire back against the comments from Fried, pointing out the fact that the state party she works for just lost, and by a large margin at that, to the person that she was trying to call out and ridicule.

“No disrespect but if I were a Florida Democrat, I’d probably avoid talking about failing campaigns when it comes to a guy who just flatlined you …” stated Morgan in a social media response.

As of writing, DeSantis has still not taken the time to officially declare his overt intention to seek the Republican Presidential nomination for 2024 — despite a number of sources having indicated that he is most likely to do so —  but he did offer up some small hint as part of the interview that he just might be ready to start a bid, and subsequently win, against President Joe Biden.

“If I were to run, I’m running against Biden, Like we [he and Trump] are competing for the Republican [nomination], potentially, I get that, but ultimately, you know, the guy I’m gonna focus on is Biden because I think he’s failed the country. I think the country wants a change. I think they want a fresh start and a new direction and so we’ll be very vocal about that. I spent a lot of time in Florida fighting back,” stated DeSantis to Morgan.

DeSantis has also been quite clear on the fact that he thinks he will be able to beat Biden should he choose to run.
