Restaurant Unveils New Logo

Another American classic just got a facelift. Cracker Barrel unveiled a new logo on Tuesday — and for the first time in nearly half a century, the iconic man resting against a barrel is gone. What remains is a sleeker, text-only design meant to harken back to the restaurant’s earliest days while updating the brand for a modern audience.

Founded in 1969, Cracker Barrel’s original logo was purely text. The familiar illustration of the man and the barrel wasn’t added until 1977, becoming a visual shorthand for the chain’s rustic, old-country charm.

Now, after 48 years, the company is stripping things down again, leaning into its signature gold and brown tones and the barrel-shaped lettering that first defined it.

Cracker Barrel explained the change in a statement: “Anchored in Cracker Barrel’s signature gold and brown tones, the updated visuals will appear across menus and marketing collateral, including the fifth evolution of the brand’s logo, which is now rooted even more closely to the iconic barrel shape and word mark that started it all.”

The redesign is part of a broader “All the More” campaign, which includes new menu items and a partnership with country singer Jordan Davis, who appears in the brand’s latest commercial. Davis framed the collaboration as a natural fit: “Cracker Barrel has always felt like home to me… I’m proud to be part of this next chapter and to celebrate what makes Cracker Barrel so special to so many.”

The campaign isn’t just cosmetic. Customers across Cracker Barrel’s 660 U.S. locations will be treated to a free Classic Side with any purchase on August 23 and 24 — a small but telling reminder that the chain’s emphasis on hospitality is still central to its identity.

Chief marketing officer Sarah Moore stressed that while the visuals are evolving, the company’s values remain the same: “We believe in the goodness of country hospitality, a spirit that has always defined us. Our story hasn’t changed. Our values haven’t changed. With ‘All the More,’ we’re honoring our legacy while bringing fresh energy, thoughtful craftsmanship and heartfelt hospitality to our guests this fall.”

The change comes after Cracker Barrel began remodeling its traditionally antique-heavy dining rooms in 2023, brightening interiors and testing fresher, more modern layouts while aiming to retain the comfort and familiarity that draw loyal customers.
