On Saturday, actor Martin Sheen took a swing at President Trump during a segment of MSNBC LIVE ‘25: This Is Who We Are, delivering what he must’ve thought was a heartfelt rebuke. “You are the biggest nothing in the world,” Sheen declared, before urging Trump to stop playing golf, stop listening to “sycophants,” and “start being human.” A dramatic monologue, sure — but one more suited to The West Wing writers’ room than to actual policy or presidential conduct.
Actor Martin Sheen on Donald Trump: “You are the biggest nothing in the world. Stop listening to all these people around you, these sycophants, who are encouraging you to be your non-human self. And the timing? Couldn’t have been worse.
As Sheen lectured Trump on “being human,” the president was overseeing one of the most consequential foreign policy breakthroughs in decades — a negotiated peace deal in Gaza that brought home hostages, silenced the guns, and reasserted American strength on the world stage. The so-called “nothing” that Sheen derides just helped deliver everything the Biden administration failed to do in two years.
Sheen’s hate fried his brain.

But this is the Hollywood formula: grandstanding from the safety of a studio, insulated from the impact of real decisions, real leadership, and real results.
For years, Democrats — Sheen included — have smeared Trump and his supporters as fascists, racists, Nazis, threats to democracy. Yet now they want to talk about “humanity”? Maybe they should start by looking in the mirror.

Ricky Gervais was right all along: these are actors, not philosophers. They read lines. They follow scripts. They’re great at pretending, but the applause doesn’t make them experts on governance, economics, or foreign affairs. They are entertainers — not enlighteners.
Meanwhile, Trump just continues to rack up real-world wins — and that’s precisely what drives Hollywood wild. While they monologue, he governs. While they virtue-signal, he negotiates. While they accuse, he acts.

Martin Sheen is entitled to his opinion. But maybe, just maybe, he should wait for the cue line — and stay out of scenes that take place in reality.
