During a segment of the Monday episode of his podcast, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) explained the prime things to keep an eye out for in determining if the Department of Justice is going out of its way trying to safeguard President Joe Biden is if they attempt to keep the criminal investigation into Biden’s Son, Hunter Biden, an entirely different issue altogether.
Cruz’s statements on the “Verdict” take place after Hunter Biden has been placed under criminal investigation for the whole duration of Biden’s presidency, while Biden very recently found himself also under criminal investigation due to the mishandling of classified material while he was vice president alongside former President Barrack Obama.
“There does still seem to be, to many of us, a disconnect between the prosecutor in Delaware with Hunter Biden and some of the tax issues and everything he’s looking into and now what’s happened with a special prosecutor that is looking into these classified documents,” expressed Ferguson. “When you start looking at these connections, the way that you’re describing them, is how are these two individuals not going to interconnect at some point and say, ‘Here, I have something you need to see, or you have something I need to see.'”
Cruz explained that the situation is currently being played out like a game of poker where a single player will sport a few “tells” which will inadvertently give off a slight sign indicating that they have either been dealt a good or bad hand.
“The tell from this Department of Justice, as to whether it is trying to be political and protect Joe Biden and Democrats on these issues is very simple: If they are trying to keep Hunter Biden and Joe Biden altogether separate, they are engaged in politics, not law,” expressed Cruz. “If they’re trying to say ‘They’re totally different, they’re totally separate.’ If they want the Hunter Biden investigation to be about, ‘Well, did the guy do drugs? Did he violate his tax laws?’ Did he do things that affect a poor, troubled guy with a serious substance abuse issue?”
“Anyone focusing on that is doing it for a reason, and that is to insulate the ‘Big Guy,’ to insulate Joe Biden,” stated Cruz. “Look, my interest in Hunter Biden is not his personal demons. The reason this is an issue of public concern is the extent to which Hunter Biden implicates his father, Joe Biden, the president and the then-vice president in official corruption. And so it is the connection between the two when they’re examining Hunter Biden, they need to be examining, what was it that Hunter Biden sold to Burisma for a million bucks a year? What was it that Hunter Biden sold to the Chinese Communists for millions of dollars a year?”
Cruz highlighted that while the mandate from the special counsel is to put emphasis on the classified documents scandal, it also needs to be questioning just who might have looked over the papers illegally and if Hunter Biden was actively selling access to them.
