Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro praised President Donald Trump’s ongoing military campaign against Iran on Saturday, calling it one of the most significant foreign policy decisions in modern American history and arguing it could reshape the United States’ role on the global stage.
Speaking during an appearance on Lara Trump’s Fox News program My View, Shapiro described the operation as an unusually bold demonstration of political leadership.
“What you’re watching him do in Iran is not only unprecedented in terms of its political courage,” Shapiro said. “I think that it is and has the potential to be a true game changer for America’s role in the world, not only for the next 10 or 20 years, but for the coming century.”
According to Shapiro, Trump’s actions represent a broader effort to restore what he views as American strength and authority in international affairs.
“What he is doing is he’s reasserting American authority in the world,” Shapiro said. “He’s reinvigorating a vision of America that is strong on the world stage, and he understands that on an innate, gut level.”
Shapiro framed the strategy as an extension of the long-standing “peace through strength” philosophy, arguing that projecting military and political power can deter adversaries and ultimately reduce the likelihood of conflict.
“The best way to get to peace is peace through strength,” Shapiro said. “You actually have to throw your enemies off their game.”
He added that decisive actions signal to rival governments that the United States is willing to enforce its red lines.
“You actually have to make the hard decisions that make your opponents understand that they cannot cross us,” he said.
Shapiro also suggested that Trump’s background in real estate negotiations may shape his approach to international politics. According to him, the competitive dynamics of business negotiations translate surprisingly well to geopolitical strategy.
“And guess what?” Shapiro said. “The rules of New York real estate actually apply incredibly well to the politics of the Middle East.”
Beyond the immediate military objectives, Shapiro argued that the campaign could have long-term consequences for global security. He suggested the operation could ultimately be remembered as one of the most transformative foreign policy moves since the end of the Cold War.
“This may be the single most transformational foreign policy move since the fall of the Soviet Union,” Shapiro said.
He also emphasized the long history of conflict between the United States and Iran’s ruling regime, which has been accused for decades of supporting militant groups across the Middle East.
“They’re responsible for the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands, of Americans,” Shapiro said, referring to attacks attributed to Iranian-backed organizations over the past several decades.
Shapiro further warned that Iran’s nuclear ambitions represented a growing threat to regional stability and global security.
“They were developing a nuclear program,” he said, “and moving more and more quickly toward a nuclear weapon that would have made it virtually impossible to stop them from spreading their terror tentacles around the region and then beyond that.”
