Dems Hold Forum At The Georgetown Institute Of Politics

Well, folks, if you were looking for a preview of just how chaotic, out-of-touch, and completely unserious the Democratic Party has become, look no further than their winter meeting in National Harbor, Maryland. The Democratic National Committee’s candidate forum—hosted by Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and MSNBC—was supposed to be an opportunity for the party to regroup, reassess, and figure out where they went so horribly wrong in 2024. Instead, it devolved into a complete circus, complete with protesters, disruptions, and the kind of left-wing infighting that makes you wonder if they even want to win elections anymore.

Apparently, some of the activists in the room weren’t thrilled that global warming wasn’t discussed enough—because, you know, that was definitely the issue that cost them the White House in 2024. The interruptions became so frequent and so disruptive that there was even talk of canceling the forum altogether. That’s right—the Democratic National Committee, the supposed leaders of the party, couldn’t even hold a candidate forum without their own activists derailing it.

But beyond the spectacle, two things became painfully clear.

First, Democrats have learned absolutely nothing from their 2024 loss.

You’d think that after losing the presidency and watching their support crater among working-class voters, Hispanic and black voters, and basically anyone who doesn’t live in a faculty lounge, they’d take a moment to reflect. Maybe, just maybe, they’d reconsider their obsession with identity politics, radical climate policies, and prioritizing woke activism over actual governance.

Nope. Instead, they’re doubling down on the same losing strategy. They’re still talking about Trump like he’s a Russian asset. They’re still pushing economic policies that hurt the very people they claim to represent. And they’re still acting like screaming about climate change and “equity” is going to win back the voters who just handed them a humiliating defeat.

Second, Quinnipiac’s polling isn’t wrong—Democrats are deeply unpopular, and for good reason.

Recent polls have shown that Democrats are viewed more unfavorably than Republicans by voters across the board. And after watching this disaster unfold, is anyone really surprised? This isn’t a party that looks capable of leading the country—it’s a party that can’t even lead a panel discussion without total chaos breaking out.

Meanwhile, Republicans have a golden opportunity here. The Democratic Party is a complete mess. Their leadership is weak. Their activists are turning on them. Their policies are unpopular. And yet—let’s be honest—the GOP still has to prove it can capitalize on this moment.
