Driscoll Responds To DOJ Order

The battle between the Trump administration and the entrenched bureaucracy of the FBI and DOJ has officially reached new heights, and the latest showdown makes one thing crystal clear: the deep state is not going quietly.

On Friday, Acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll refused a Justice Department order to assist in the firing of agents involved in the January 6th cases. The order reportedly came from Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, a close Trump ally, who instructed Driscoll to remove eight senior FBI executives and turn over a list of all bureau employees involved in investigating the Capitol riot. Driscoll pushed back so hard that some FBI officials feared he might be fired on the spot. But the DOJ blinked, and Driscoll is still standing—for now.

Let’s be clear about what’s happening here: the Trump administration is following through on its promise to clean house. From the start, Trump made it known that weaponized government agencies—particularly the FBI and DOJ—would face serious consequences for politically motivated actions taken during the Biden years.

The January 6th investigations, which led to the largest criminal probe in U.S. history, swept up thousands of FBI personnel and resulted in cases that many Americans saw as politically charged prosecutions rather than objective law enforcement.

And now, it’s time for accountability.

Driscoll’s memo to FBI employees confirmed that eight top executives had been forced out, including high-ranking officials overseeing intelligence, national security, criminal investigations, and even controversial disciplinary proceedings against conservative FBI agents. Others, like the head of the Miami and Washington field offices, were also on the chopping block. Yet, according to Driscoll’s memo, thousands of agents—himself included—were involved in January 6th cases, raising the stakes on what the administration might do next.

Predictably, the mainstream media is in full meltdown mode, with legal analysts like Joyce Vance claiming these firings are “illegal” and warning that career officials cannot be purged just because they don’t align with the White House.

Funny—these same people had no problem when Biden’s DOJ aggressively targeted pro-life activists, parents at school board meetings, and anyone deemed to be a “threat to democracy.” Now that the tables are turning, suddenly, they’re concerned about fairness.

Meanwhile, FBI agents themselves are reportedly rattled, with some questioning whether working on politically sensitive cases under Trump could make them a target. But here’s the thing: if federal law enforcement had been operating fairly in the first place, there would be nothing to worry about. The FBI and DOJ under Biden made it their mission to go after political enemies while turning a blind eye to violent crime, border chaos, and actual national security threats.
