They’re cleaning house, and there’s not a thing these DC bureaucrats can do to stop it. No matter how much they whine, resist, or try to throw up procedural roadblocks, the reality is clear: Trump is in charge, and the days of unchecked government waste are over.
The latest agency to learn this lesson the hard way? USAID. After spending years doling out billions of taxpayer dollars with little to no accountability, they suddenly found themselves on the receiving end of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and its leader, Elon Musk.
And when a top USAID security official, John Voorhees, tried to push back, the White House didn’t hesitate—he was put on leave.
Voorhees’ big mistake? Refusing to allow DOGE officials access to a SCIF—a highly secure room where top-secret information is stored. Now, normally, restricting access to classified information might make sense, but here’s the problem: DOGE works for the Trump White House. They have every right to access these systems, especially when the administration has made it clear that USAID is under scrutiny for mismanagement and corruption.
‼️‼️A career @USAID official tried to reverse a @DOGE decision to place 60 senior agency officials on admin leave earlier this week. DOGE immediately took punitive action for the attempt, and now that official is on admin leave too. This is the email the official sent: pic.twitter.com/nGx1Y0uVk4

When USAID personnel tried to block access, DOGE officials weren’t having it. They threatened to call federal marshals, and in the end, the bureaucrats backed down. DOGE got the access they wanted, just as they always do.
Because in this new administration, the old ways of doing business—where career officials believe they can ignore elected leadership—are over.
And it’s not just USAID. Over at the Treasury Department, DOGE has finally gained access to the federal payment system, and the findings are exactly what you’d expect: rampant fraud, zero oversight, and a culture of reckless spending that would be shocking if it weren’t so predictable.
According to Musk, the DOGE team found that Treasury officials were instructed to approve every single payment request, even to known fraudsters and terrorists. Not once in their careers had these bureaucrats denied a payment. This isn’t just incompetence; it’s outright criminal. And now that DOGE has the receipts, the hammer is coming down.
